About Me
Hi, I am Sarah Mitchell 👋
I grew up around family pets, but it was not until I got my first dog on my own, a scrappy mixed breed named Biscuit, that I realized how little I actually knew. That first year was full of vet visits, food that did not agree with him, and toys that lasted about four minutes. So I started keeping notes on what worked and what did not.
That habit never really stopped. Over fifteen years later, I am still taking notes, now with Max, my golden retriever, and Luna, a rescue tabby who showed up on my porch one winter and never left. Between the two of them I have tried more food brands, litter boxes, harnesses and grooming tools than I can count, and I write down everything I learn along the way.
Why I Started Holiday For Paws
Most pet sites give you a short list of products with very little explanation. I wanted to do something different: real guides written by someone who actually uses the products at home, shares what worked, what did not, and why. My goal is simple, help you feel confident and prepared as a pet owner, not just tell you what to buy.
Max and Luna
Max is a five year old golden retriever. Food motivated, scared of the vacuum, and the reason I now know an unreasonable amount about durable dog toys.
Luna is a rescue tabby of unknown age, the vet guesses six or seven. Particular about litter texture, and the reason half of my buying guides exist.
How I Choose What to Recommend
I test products myself with my own pets in my own home before writing about them. If something did not hold up, I say so clearly. I only recommend things I would genuinely buy again.
Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. This never changes which products I choose to talk about, my only goal is to share information that actually helps.
